Continuing our series ‘Weekly Watch’, this week Ms Priyanka Sippy Editor-In-Chief offers a sneak peak into the latest offering Omega Seamaster 300M 007 Edition.
Come April 2020 and all eyes will be on the new Omega watch as James Bond hits the screen in the new 007 film, No Time To Die. The Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition has been designed with military needs in mind along with inputs from actor, Daniel Craig. Great news is that this will be a non-limited watch! The watch will be available to customers in February 2020 with a choice of a titanium mesh bracelet, or a striped NATO strap in dark brown, grey and beige, with 007 engraved on the loop. The suave 42 mm timepiece has been crafted from Grade 2 Titanium, which is used for the case and bracelet with its unique, adjustable buckle. Strong and lightweight, this watch is perfect for your favorite spy. A special feature is the new doming of the sapphire-crystal glass, resulting in a minimally slimmer watch as compared to the standard Seamaster Diver 300M models.
The new watch is completed by a NAIAD LOCK caseback, which keeps all of the engravings in perfect alignment. With an impressive movement – the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, which has achieved the industry’s highest standards of precision, chronometric performance and magnetic resistance, this timepiece breaks boundaries. For adventure loving connoisseurs, this Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition model comes in an exclusive brown fabric pouch. The watch is water resistant to 30 bar (300 m / 1000 ft) and comes with Omega’s full 5-year warranty.
For this watch, Omega has introduced an aluminium dial, with a color that replicates the aged brown hue that certain vintage dials turn over time, referred to by collectors as “tropical”. The aluminium bezel ring of this watch is the same shade. A series of numbers feature on the caseback, following the format for genuine military-issue watches. These are, “0552” ,a naval code-number, with “923 7697” being the number for a divers’ watch. The letter “A” signifies a watch with a screw-in crown, while is, of course, James Bond’s iconic agent number. Finally, the number “62” refers to the year of the very first James Bond film.
When designing this fantastic new watch, Omega remained in close contact with Daniel Craig and the filmmakers. Daniel Craig’s opinion and advice were instrumental to the final piece. The actor says, “When working with OMEGA, we decided that a lightweight watch would be perfect for a military man like 007. I also suggested some vintage touches and colors to give the watch a unique edge. The final piece looks incredible.”
To all James Bond fans and Omega aficionados, watch out for this timepiece. Omega delivers and how
