Weekly Watch- by Priyanka Sippy
Founded in 1755 by Jean-Marc Vacheron,in Geneva, Switzerland, this Swiss Watchmaker is credited with creating the world’s first horological complication in 1770. Vacheron Constantin’s female fans will be ecstatic with the new Égérie women’s collection.
Vacheron Constantin celebrate the coming together of Haute Couture and Haute Horlogerie, with their new women’s watch collection, Égérie. This Haute Horlogerie collection is a tribute to fashion and watchmaking, both unique and sensational.
The dial is dramatic and sensual, with the effect of a drape of silk, the numerals almost seeming to float over it. Framed entirely by diamonds the effect is stupendous. Inspired by a tapestry technique, the effect has been created by a unique machine, dating back to 1904, a one of a kind, and capable of producing this design.
The edgy detail is in the intertwined circles off center, with the moon phase and the logo, and the crown placed impudently at 1.30 o’clock.
Delicate and lightweight, this timepiece is nonetheless a true masterpiece when it comes to a feminine yet complicated watch. The sapphire crystal case back reveals the 1088-L automatic movement with a 40-hour power reserve. The moon phase model embraces the tradition of watchmaking complications with a romantic touch, allowing you to follow the lunar cycle over a mother-of-pearl sea of clouds in a star-studded sky. Through its many variations, the Égérie collection brings a magical feeling and a poignant dimension to your time in many different ways.
With a choice of interchangeable straps in leather, in color choices that add to the gorgeousness of the timepiece, the red gold models are a fabulous choice. For the dressier version, the white gold, all diamond model is sensational. The more practical stainless-steel version is a day to night watch for women on the move.
As the Watch Manufacturer rightly states, “Women of today are inspiring, therefore it was only natural for us to offer them an Égérie in return.”
Coming March 1st, this collection releases in time for Women’s Day, a tribute to the strength, grace and femininity of today’s women.
